Our Frankincense Distillery in Oman
We were granted a license by the ministry of agriculture and ministry of commerce to start our new frankincense distillery in Salalah, which is the second biggest city of Oman and is situated in the Dhofar region of Oman. During the months of June and September the Dhofar region experiences the Khareef season. The rains seen during these months convert the landscape of Dhofar and blanket the mountains in lush greenery. Khareef turns Salalah into a haven for wildlife and nature. The mountains behind Salalah capture the moisture that allows the famous frankincense trees to grow and produce the incense that is found in local markets and all over the world.
We collect the resins and distill the essential oil of frankincense from the species of Boswelia sacra. Our distillary is based in the Sinai industrial estate in Salalah where we distil the famous sacred frankincense oil from the species of Boswelia sacra.Our theraputic grade oil is extracted from resins of wild harvested Boswelia sacra trees which only grow in the Dhofar region of Oman.
Our resins of Boswelia sacra are carefully selected and graded and all batches are recorded for traceability purpose. We ensure the quality of our raw material and our products.We keep a record of our collectors of resins and make sure that natural resources are protected. This is being done by documenting the areas where the resins are collected so that the frankincense trees are are not over harvested. We are committed to protecting and preserving nature and the environment.This forms the basis of our quality management and documentation process.
We carry out our own distillation in stainless steel vessels and are able to trace our product from plant material to the customer. Our distillation process takes about ten hours and we distil the best quality therapeutic grade of Boswelia sacra essential oil. We are also producing double distilled frankincense hydro sole which is now available from our distillery.
Our research and development department is working closely to develop the production of Boswelic acid from the species of Boswellia sacra. Commercial scale production of boswlic acid from the species of Boswellia Sacra shall be offered to our customers by the beginning of next year. We shall be the first company to produce boswelic acid from the species of Boswellia sacra.
We are exporting our Boswellia sacra essential oil directly from Salalah Oman . Our sacra essential oil is now available from London United Kingdom from Clintree essential oils.
